From a basic and undesirable home photo, Ashleigh has been transported into a skaters paradise that is an old German hospital. Built between 1898 and as a sanatorium for lung diseases in 1930, Beelitz treatment centers was one of the largest hospitals in and around Berlin. It served as a field hospital in the two world wars and was later the Soviets’ major military hospital in East Germany. Abandoned in 1994 with the Russian withdrawal, most buildings have slowly falling into ruins since. What a shame.
